Welcome to Day 13 of our series 31 Days of Anti-Procrastination!
Today is a celebration!
Let’s revisit The Hallway of Doom.
It started out like this:
At the beginning of our 31 Days we got to work doing a little bit in this hallway every.single.day.
Soon it looked like this:
We gifted items from the hallway to friends, donated stuff and trashed a LOT of stuff.
Then it looked like this:
I realized the dust was really bothering my lungs. So I strapped on a gas mask and kept right on going:
A few more days and it looked like this:
And today? Well today the heavens parted and the angels sang. Today I found a wall and floor that I hadn’t seen in months. Today I swept up enough cat hair to make a third cat in our family. Today it looks like this:
There is still much to do in this hallway. The mirror leaning against the wall is actually my mother’s and I’ll be returning it to her. The plug actually leads to an electronic cat box in the bathroom and needs to be replaced. The baseboards need to be washed and the walls need touch. The hooks on the wall need to come down and the holes spackled and painted.
Walking down this hall is a surreal experience. Every member of our family walked back and forth down this hallway tonight just to experience it. Even the cats don’t know what to do without all the crap in the hallway!
I can’t wait to hang pictures, a mirror and put down an awesome carpet runner. This is going to be really fun!
We took a great big task and broke it down into daily bite sized pieces. It took us a lot less time that we thought it would and we are so happy with it!
